Worth A Read – article on the Isle of Wight in the Weekend Telegraph
There’s a good article on the Isle Of Wight in ‘Coastal England’, a supplement with yesterday’s (15 March 2014) Weekend Telegraph.
The article homes in on the rich history of the island and offers plenty of ideas of things to do. For such a small place it has a wealth of festivals, including the Isle of Wight Walking Festival.

In the space that allows, it’s a decent piece on the Island (have gone every year since 1968). The simple coastal walk from Ryde to Seaview is lovely. Brading is worth a visit – but its fabulous waxworks museum has gone in recent years. The Seaview Hotel – which never fails to appear in newspaper reviews about the IOW _ is a shadow of its former self and, in our opinion, doesn’t deserve a mention anymore. The Hambrough and Priory Bay do however.

Since 1968! Then I think you could justifiably be considered an expert on the place! Your note about the Seaview Hotel made me smile – as it seems the same info is often pulled out time and again for certain stock articles (lazy reporting?). Thank you for your enlightening comments – appreciated!

Quite possibly with the Seaview. The island isn’t exactly packed with great eateries/hotels but that’s no excuse to keep dredging up the place!
